Barton Hills Village Proposed Administration Center

The Barton Hills Village Board of Trustees recognizes its responsibility to provide for the efficient management of the municipality. The Village Administration Center Review Committee, composed of three Trustees, one Barton Hills Maintenance Corporation representative and two residents, was appointed in April 2005 with this objective:

Develop a cost effective plan to (1) provide adequate working space for the
administrative staff of the Village of Barton Hills and (2) provide adequate
storage to satisfy the state and federal legal requirements for record storage.

The committee has methodically studied the functions of the staff, space requirements, legal obligations and alternatives available to fulfill their objective. Over the past two years, they have determined that a building of about 2,000 square feet could provide adequate record storage, office and meeting space at a reasonable cost. A site has been selected and a design for the building has been developed.

Displayed are the floor plan, exterior elevations and site plan for the proposed building. A public forum to discuss the project will be held on Monday, August 20, 2007 at 6:00 PM in the Village Hall, 195 Barton Shore Dr. Comments (favorable and unfavorable) can be emailed to Committee Chair Wayne Lindstrom at waynelindstrom@gmail.com.
