MINUTES OF BOARD
TRUSTEES OF BARTON HILLS VILLAGE
December 14, 2015
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by
President Boddie at 6:02 PM at the Village Hall.
ROLL CALL Present: Trustees Al-Awar,
Benson, Boddie, Borel, Butterwick, Izenberg, Langford, MacKrell and van der
Velde. Absent: None.
Others attending: Asst. Treasurer King.
WALL PERMIT The application for construction of entrance walls at 440 Barton North Drive was disapproved, based on the consensus that the walls were too large for the location and seemed out of character with the Olmsted intent of a natural, parklike community. The desire of owners to improve their homes was lauded but there are not similar entrance feature on neighboring properties. The Board would consider a revised application with perhaps smaller walls and/or just pillars. (Butterwick/Langford/P)

MINUTES Minutes of the November 9, 2015 Trustees meeting were approved as printed. (Butterwick/MacKrell/P)
FINANCE/FINANCE COMMITTEE The Cash Balances report was distributed. The Cash Disbursements for November 2015 were approved as printed (Aux. Book XIX E(9)). (Butterwick/Langford/P) Changes in employee insurance funding were noted.

--The following resolution was adopted. (MacKrell/Butterwick/P)
BE IT RESOLVED that since Bruce Laidlaw has served as Attorney
for Barton Hills Village since 2009; and, whereas he has faithfully
offered outstanding service for the good of Barton Hills Village
during that time, the members of the Board of Trustees wish to
thank Mr. Laidlaw for this dedication and loyalty to the Trustees,
residents and staff of Barton Hills Village, express congratulations
and extend their best wishes to him in his retirement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be recorded in the
minutes of the Barton Hills Village Board of Trustees.
Passed Unanimously on December 14, 2015.
--The following regular meeting dates for 2016 were set (second Monday of the month, 6:00 PM): January 11, February 8, March 14 (Annual Meeting), April 11, May 9, June 13, July 11, August 8, September 12, October 10, November 14 (Organization Meeting) and December 12.
