MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING

TRUSTEES OF BARTON HILLS VILLAGE

November 11, 2013

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by President Boddie at 6:00 PM at the Village Hall.

ROLL CALL Present: Trustees Al-Awar, Benson, Boddie, Borel, Butterwick, Izenberg, Langford, MacKrell and van der Velde. Absent: None.
Others attending: ZPA Perry, Asst. Treasurer King, Supt. Esch, BHMC President MacKrell and two residents.

PUBLIC COMMENT None.

WALL PERMIT The application to construct a landscape wall at 135 Underdown Road was approved. (Benson/Langford/P)

MINUTES Minutes of the October 14, 2013 Trustees meeting were approved as printed. (Butterwick/van der Velde/P)

FINANCE/FINANCE COMMITTEE The Cash Balances report was distributed. The Cash Disbursements for October 2013 were approved as printed (Aux. Book XIV E(8)). (MacKrell/Butterwick/P)

STANDING REPORTS

Zoning and Planning Administrator (Perry) No report.

Planning Commission (MacKrell/Perry) The Commission will meet on November 12, 2013 to review the proposed zoning ordinance in light of public comment received.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Recreation (Benson) The Halloween event was a success despite the inclement weather, with 26 children and 3 adult chaperones enjoying the trolley ride. Stops were made at 13 resident homes. Ann Arbor Township Fire Department also came with their big fire truck and passed out candy to the children. David and Jan Brandon sponsored a pizza party at the Village Hall prior to the ride. The event concluded at 9:00 PM.

Long Range Planning (MacKrell) No report.

Personnel (Langford) No report.

Roads/Vehicles (Al-Awar) No report.

Security (Butterwick) No report.

Water (Davis/Butterwick)

Zoning/ZO Revision (Perry) No report.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS Proposed ordinance No. 46 (Road Use) was approved for publication in the Barton Bulletin. (Al-Awar/Langford/P)

NEW BUSINESS It was suggested that a municipal park with play structure be established in the village. Consensus of the board was that it is a major investment to construct/maintain a safe play area in light of the potential number of users, especially since there are several other parks in the nearby area.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 PM. (Al-Awar/Butterwick/P)
