MINUTES OF BOARD
TRUSTEES OF BARTON HILLS VILLAGE
September 10, 2012
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by
President Boddie at 6:02 PM at the Village Hall.
ROLL CALL Present: Trustees Al-Awar, Benson, Boddie, Borel, Butterwick, Izenberg, Langford, MacKrell and van der Velde. Absent: None. Others attending: ZPA Perry, Asst. Treasurer King and Supt. Esch.
Will Boddie was nominated to the office of President. Nominations were closed and Mr. Boddie was elected. (Langford/MacKrell/P)
Forrest Butterwick was nominated to the office of President Pro Tem. Nominations were closed and Mr. Butterwick was elected. (MacKrell/Al-Awar/P)
Cheryl MacKrell was nominated to the office of Clerk. Nominations were closed, Mrs. MacKrell was elected and took the oath of office. (Benson/Butterwick/P)
The following appointments were made: Treasurer George Borel, Attorney Bruce Laidlaw, Assessor Randy Perry, Assistant Treasurer Priya King, Deputy Clerk Jan Esch.
Committee assignments remain the same.
WALL PERMIT The application to construct
entrance walls at 440 Barton North Drive was approved.

MINUTES Minutes of the August 13, 2012 Trustees meeting were approved as printed. (MacKrell/Butterwick/P)
FINANCE/FINANCE COMMITTEE The Cash
Balances report was distributed. The Cash Disbursements for August 2012 were
approved as printed (Aux. Book X
Zoning and Planning Administrator (Perry) Several projects were approved in the last month with no particular issues.
Planning Commission (MacKrell/Perry) No meeting this month; next meeting scheduled for September 27, 2012.
Recreation (Benson) Fall picnic and Halloween updates were given.
Security (Butterwick) Removal of a dead tree across from the Boat Club will be investigated.
Environmental (Butterwick/MacKrell) No report.
Long Range Planning (MacKrell) No report.
Personnel (Langford) No report.
Roads/Vehicles (Al-Awar) No report.
Water (Davis) No report.
Zoning/ZO Revision (Perry) No report.
Barton Hills Village will opt out of the County Wide Transit Authority. (van der Velde/Langford/P)
Steps will be taken to apply for use of the Act 51 funds.
Quotations for improvement of the maintenance area were discussed. No action taken since all of the quotations have not yet been received.
Vegetation similar to the type used to screen the gas pumps will be planted to screen the #2 plastics bins. (van der Velde/Butterwick/P)
It was noted that treatment of the trees along Barton Shore Drive by the Lower Gate has been successful.
